Joon is a PhD student at the lab of evolutionary and computational virology at KU Leuven. Here, he uses surveillance sequencing data to monitor and study the evolution and the spreading of viral diseases. His PhD project focuses on the Lassa virus and how it adapts towards it's environment and human host.
Joon will be presenting a poster titled "Viralgenie, a Nextflow Pipeline for Viral Metagenome Sequencing Data: Application in LASV Research".
