Eray's professional experience spans several organizations. He is currently a Bioinformatics Analyst at CosmosID (recently merged with Clinical Microbiomics/MS-Omics/DNASense), where the tasks include but not limited to data handling and delivery to the customers for metagenomics and metabolomics projects, performing custom comparative analysis using in-house developed R script as a member of Bioinformatics Services (BIS) team, update and maintenance of in-house developed R script for statistical metagenomics analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving varied and complex microbiome science projects to produce high quality analysis results. Previously, he held the position of Research Associate at same company, where he curated metadata for metagenomic studies and helped in custom comparative analysis. During his time as a PhD student researcher at Epigenetiks Genetics Bioinformatics Software I.C., he was involved in various collaborative bioinformatics projects, and development of detection kits for COVID-19 by designing the primers. Earlier in his career, Eray worked as a Molecular Biologist at Anadolu Medical Center, where he specialized in molecular diagnostics.
He holds an MSc in Biotechnology (2016) and a BSc in Genetics and Bioengineering (2013) from Yeditepe University (Turkey). Eray has co-authored several publications, including studies on metagenomics analysis and data analysis. Fluent in R programming, and Eray is committed to advancing bioinformatics research and applications by extending his skills in the area.
