Francesco Lescai

Associate Professor of Bioinformatics at the University of Pavia
Francesco has a M.Sc. in Medical Biotechnology and a Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology at the University of Bologna. He developed an expertise in Bioinformatics, Genomics and Statistical Genetics. His career includes experiences spanning from academic institutions like the University College London and Aarhus University, multinational companies like QIAGEN and a government agency like MHRA in London, where he was Head of Bioinformatics. He is now Associate Professor of Bioinformatics at the Department of Biology and Biotechnology of the University of Pavia, where he is responsible for the Laboratory of Computational Genomics (COMPGEN). The lab activities focus on modelling the contribution of genomics variation to the trajectories of complex phenotypes, and the development of bioinformatics and artificial intelligence tools to uncover novel predictors in neuro-inflammatory disorders.
