Mathys Grapotte

Initially following training as a physicist in optics at Telecom Saint-Etienne, Mathys discovered machine learning as a passion and decided to move to the field. Thus coming in contact with researchers at the University of Montpellier, Mathys started his journey by developing models predicting transcription from DNA sequences. This culminated into a PhD in cooperation with Sanofi and a meeting with Cedric Notredame who hired him as a Postdoctoral Fellow. It was then, at the CRG, that he discovered Nextflow and saw its potential in data processing for deep learning training.
